What is this website about?

The Prudhoe Regeneration Website has very recently been set up to inform the people of both Prudhoe and surrounding communities of important issues with regards to proposed changes to the town. Giving priority to the largest proposed redevelopment at this stage (as outlined in the 'Proposed Plans' section), we will soon be expanding the website in order to accommodate other developments, no matter how large or small these changes may be. Our primary objective is to keep you, the general public, both updated and to provide a platform on which to express your voice and thoughts on the future of our town.

Why are we bothering?

We believe that you should have a right to express your voice on the well being of your town and, as a result, we are developing an online community enabling local people to easily and effectively relay their thoughts and concerns. With your input, together, we will be able to shape the future of Prudhoe.

How will we do this?

We are currently in the process of collating facts and information from the Tynedale Council Planning Department, and will be transferring this data directly onto the website, allowing the local community an easy and centralised means of access.

Several surveys have already been conducted in the past; however, we feel that these surveys were not fully representative of the majority due to the relatively small number of participants. For this reason, we developed an online survey that allowed registered users to participate from the comfort of their home - after all, there are 15,000 people in Prudhoe!

With your contribution, we hope to produce fair and representative data which will then be presented to the relative persons in due course.

Are we against a redevelopment?

No. Absolutely not. We are delighted at the opportunity for a redevelopment in Prudhoe - provided that it meets the requirements of the Prudhoe people.

Who is 'we'?

This website operates in association with the Prudhoe Traders' Association (as published in The Hexham Courant), and comprises local business owners with the interests of both business and the community in mind. Most importantly however, this website is about the community in general and any public input is very welcome.

Please keep visiting as more information is added to the site!
